Nomads No More – Why These Black Women Are Coming Home

Since the pandemic, many of us have actively built career paths around digital nomad lifestyles. What once felt out of reach has become a practical option for some, offering a shift towards a more easygoing, flexible way of living than before. The appeal includes working from a laptop in a new country, lower living costs in some places, and the ability to move freely without being tied to one location.

For Black women, like me, this has also felt like a form of relief – far away from racism in the workplace, rigid corporate structures, burnout and the constant pressure that comes with traditional office environments. It’s no surprise that many people have embraced this lifestyle and not looked back. And social media has only reinforced that pull.
