Although I have previously written about the attractiveness of expat life in the Gulf, I’ve always been worried about pandering to an audience who craves a false lifestyle sold to them by social media. In the wake of the ongoing war between US/Israel and Iran, the ugliness of the Gulf has been fully uncovered. No longer able to remain hidden from the world, the violent consumerism and gaudy flashiness is lifted to reveal a dark, dirty underbelly.
