On Tuesday 6th September Liz Truss was appointed Prime Minister in a ceremony with the Queen. Truss is the fourth UK Prime Minister in six years – a palpably embarrassing fact. And this isn’t the only cause for concern since Truss’ fate as leader was secured through an internal, Conservative competition – a Party which consists of approximately 200,000 members who are mainly old white men and are reported to be less than 0.5% of the voting population. 

With the absence of democratic elections and the spiralling economic crises, Truss has certainly got a lot to prove before we might even mumble her campaign slogan, “in Liz we Truss”. With that said, unease and anxiety are very reasonable emotions to be experiencing right now. But how worried should we be? Could she be a good leader for us?
