After months and years of rumours and speculation, it was confirmed in a press release that Wendy Williams has been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontemporal dementia. A prominent figure in Black culture, many people have a love-hate relationship with the controversial TV host and it is no surprise that this news was met with just as varied reactions.
Despite there being obvious concern and questions about her capacity and overall well-being, Williams has released a two-part documentary, Where Is Wendy Williams?, which was released on Lifetime and is yet to air in the UK. Much like the press release shared by her team, it has been claimed that this was done in part to put to rest probings around her speech, memory and financial transactions and “raise awareness about aphasia and frontotemporal dementia and support the thousands of others facing similar circumstances”.
