Meet Teniola King, Nikki Fagbemi, Charlene Wango and Jessica Magaye. Four black women who wrote, directed, executively produced and on one occasion, even acted in, their own short films, to bring to life stories from perspectives that are not typically shown in the mainstream.
In partnership with DBK Studios and Sky Studios, these series of films were created to highlight the UK’s emerging Black talent and each film has a special and/or direct link to its respective filmmakers. We caught up with each filmmaker to discuss the key messages of their stories and the battle between expressing vulnerability and strength.
Note: the interviews have been shortened and edited for publication.
