I have always been captivated by articles that foreshadow their endings. In keeping with my penchant for this aspect of storytelling, let me preface this piece by stating that it will delve into how a country, minding its own business and celebrating fifty years of independence from European rule, fundamentally shifted something within me for the better.

Grenada, undoubtedly a breathtaking country, was the destination of my recent travels, though I must confess to having only explored a few other countries thus far. The invitation to witness and partake in some of the celebratory events honouring the 50th anniversary of Grenada's independence felt like an unexpected gift, but little did I know that the true blessing would be learning about the rich history behind such momentous festivities.
