When Daniel* arrived at the hotel in Chelsea back in January, the first thing he noticed were the cars.
“The cars outside were like, loads of Range Rovers [and] Rolls Royces. You didn’t think you were going to church, you really thought you were going to one celebrity party or something like that.”
Daniel had heard about a church called SPAC Nation from social media and had been criticising from afar, but decided to attend a service to form a “more rounded opinion”.
At first everything seemed like a normal Sunday church service, besides the fact that they were meeting in a hired hotel event room, but then he began to realise that everyone – including the small children in attendance – was in designer clothing, and besides the main pastor, no one looked older than 30 years old.
