Miss LaFamilia On Music, Motherhood & Taking Over A Male-Dominated Industry

Two years ago, in April 2019, GRM Daily – the largest media platform dedicated to UK rap, grime and drill music – uploaded a video called ‘Addictive Remix’.

It wouldn’t be fair to say that the artist behind this track was unknown. Up until that point, Birmingham’s Miss LaFamilia was most well known for being the boss lady behind LaFamilia Dolls, a modelling agency that provided video vixens for music videos and industry events.

But the fact that a music video uploaded to “test the water”, as the rapper told Clash magazine, garnered one million views within the space of a month took a lot of people by surprise.
