Award-Winning Creative Director Marssaié On The Importance Of Resilience and Community For Black Freelancers

Meet Marssaié - an award-winning Creative Director and Lecturer in Design at London Metropolitan and Shillington College, and founder of Enjoy The Collective, a creative series for and by freelancers. The series is centred around championing Marssaié’s peers in the creative industry, all whilst sharing their experiences, lessons learned and advice with its listeners.

For most creatives, we have that one defining moment where our creative journey starts. For Marssaié, it was her childhood best friend and her family of creatives. After completing work experience at her friend's father's design agency, Marssaié set her sights on a future in graphic design.

From there, she studied Graphic Design at university and continued to enhance her skillset and has since worked on Channel 4’s Black To Front as an Art Director and Set Designer, as well as a Creative Director and Designer on Mark Maciver aka Slider Cuts’ book Shaping Up Culture. With over 10 years of experience under her belt, it is evident that Marssaié is a seasoned professional in the creative industry.
