At times, the hardest person to be honest with is yourself. It forces you to reflect on who you really are at a certain point in your life. You ask yourself critical questions such as: “what really are your values”, “what relationships in your life bring out the best in you?” And of course, honest reflection can also push you to answer that critical question in your life of “are you happy?
Maybe because we celebrated Black Ballad’s birthday recently, but I’ve been so reflective about life. Add in the privilege of watching two little humans grow on a daily basis as well, I constantly want to push myself to be the best version of myself, but lately I asked myself what drives me? What motivates me to get up in the morning? For some, it’s success, reaching a goal and feeling, tasting what success will be like after they have accomplished what they set out to do.
Personally, I’m driven by not wanting to fail at anything and especially the big things - such as parenting and running this company. The only way I can describe failure is that it truly is the fire in my stomach that makes things happen and failure gives me a sense of urgency to move in situations.
