It feels surreal that this will be my last newsletter of 2023. Maybe I say this every year, but I think where has the year gone? Like most people who look back and reflect on the year that has passed, I think about the moments that I have found joyous escapism in. Yet, while I can only speak for myself, the year has been rough.

The state of the world, this country’s continued economic struggles, the passing of our heroes - I feel like 2023 has been quite unkind. I was one of the people who shared those memes that said: “God make sure I’m on the blessings package and not the trials and tribulations package for 2024.” While I don’t want to use the last letter of 2023 to dwell on what I think has been a really hard year, I want to pat myself and you on the back for making it through.
