Founder's Letter: The Meghan Markle Race Conversation Is Complex & That’s OK

As black women, one thing I love about us, is that we will support each other to the death and I don’t say that to exaggerate. Our biggest strength, I believe as black women is our ability to collectively organise and defend each other and our wider community, but especially each other when it is most needed.

We have seen black women come together and rally both online and offline in a bid to protect one of us or someone in our community. It is hardly surprising that Black Lives Matter was started by black women and who can forget how brilliant black women called out a handful of judgemental and privileged white journalists who ganged up on our Auntie Paula, only for black women to join forces on the internet and say “there is no way we will tolerate such poisonous behaviour towards her.”
