Life's Short But There's Still Rice At Home: Examining Our Shifting Financial Goals Post-Covid

Is outside more expensive or is it just me? I don’t know if it’s because we have been under coronavirus restrictions for so long, but I have forgotten how pricey it is to maintain an active social life.

I found myself booking events months in advance anticipating the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions, but now I’m trying to worm my way out of plans as I’ve simply stretched myself too thin financially.  

My current spending habits are completely unrecognisable compared to during lockdown. I have gone from saving substantial amounts due to not commuting, spending on lunches and going out, to now having to readjust my saving goals so I don’t miss out.

I’ve never been one for FOMO (“Fear Of Missing Out”), but now I feel an added pressure to do more and experience more after being cooped up at home.
