I am over the moon that you have been appointed to the second highest rank in British politics, talk least of being the most powerful Black man in the West – God is so Good! My mother’s tithes have been used to bless others, clearly.
I mean, how lucky we are to bear witness to this moment in history that has brought immense pride to our communities. After decades of navigating systemic injustices we too can “raise the colours” and wave our English flags with pride knowing that with you as Deputy Prime Minister there is nothing to be ashamed of and everything to gain. With a Black face in a high place it can’t be long until our material and social conditions improve, can it? Because who God blesses no man can curse. In you, Lammy, our ancestors can rest.
