Black Ballad has been working with Dove, to host focus groups with our community on underarm irritation and what we look for from a deodorant - the results of which will be released next month to better understand and highlight what is important to black women when it comes to their underarms.

We know that for any woman, feeling your best is critical and while deodorant can often be an overlooked factor in that, it can play a huge role in helping us navigate the world with confidence. Yet, as we listened to the feedback our wonderful Black Ballad members gave when talking about deodorants and their underarms, it became apparent that many of you want a deodorant that does more than just preventing sweating or giving off a body odour. You want a deodorant that is kind to skin and helps ease any irritation that exists in your armpits, helps deal with dark marks, bumps and keeps our underarms moisturised and smooth.

Dove Advanced Care Deodorants does all of that and more. Combining Dove’s famous ¼ moisturising cream, with natural sunflower seed oil, the new formula uses Vitamin E to help soothe and calm underarm skin. Omega 6 known to help smooth out bumpiness and Glycerin does the trick of keeping our underarms hydrated.

The biggest upgrade to Dove’s deodorants in 26 years also provides up to 72 hours of sweat and odour protection. This is done through a new patented anti-perspirant active which works differently to conventional anti-perspirant technology, providing increased care with less active ingredients, for long lasting protection whilst being less likely to irritate skin.
