Yet, it’s been challenging and tough to find a loctician – an expert in locs maintenance – that ensures that you leave the salon confidently as you walked in with.
With many having had daunting experiences with their locticians due to inexperience, unprofessionalism or inability to deliver as promised, others now rely heavily upon social media content and word-of-mouth recommendations.
With the most renowned and celebrated locticians being Black men, particularly across the Lusophone community, the locs market raises concerns regarding its gender disparity since Black women have undoubtedly been pushed away from the limelight.
