Isata Kanneh-Mason and her talented family of seven siblings – all classically trained musicians – are fast becoming the darlings of the classical music world. From her first public performance at the age of eight, Isata, now 23, is a rising star and inspiration for young classical musicians.
Having studied at the world-famous Royal Academy of Music since the age of 10, Isata’s performance career as a solo pianist has attracted the attention of diverse audiences around the world.
Her debut album, ‘Romance’, released in July, features an all-female line-up to champion the significance of women musicians throughout the years, and their influence on the classical musical canon. The record also includes selected works by female composer Clara Schumann and marks the 200th anniversary of her birth. The record debuted at the top of the UK Official Classical Artist Chart, which makes it the first-ever Clara Schumann record to do so.
