Every parent knows that feeling of a tight chest when saying goodbye to your little one on their first day at school. The fear of what could happen in those six hours of you not being present; not having your usual control over what and who they are exposed to.
Luckily, this internal tension diminishes as the days, months and years pass – with positive commentary after the school day strengthening such relief.
While I may have thought that we hit the jackpot in choosing a school that our daughter loves so much, the truth is, that uneasy feeling from day one never truly went away. It’s just that I was able to suppress it until something happened, which caused my child to no longer enjoy being at school.
