While I don’t love the winter for obvious reasons, another reason is that it’s too harsh on our hair. Whether you have a beautiful afro or healthy relaxed strands, winter is unkind to black hair. Protective styles and the right products are more important during this time of year than ever.

This winter, we’re focusing on protective styles, and we’ve teamed up with Garnier Hair to bring you another cornrow masterclass. This time, we’re heading to… Birmingham!

It’s been a while since Black Ballad was in the Midlands, and as part of our long-term partnership with Garnier Hair, we’re committed to equipping black women and families across the country with the knowledge, skills, and products to ensure healthy hair growth on their own terms.

We’re proud to announce that the cornrow class will be held in the beautiful Lewa Studios, a black-owned hair salon run by sisters Temi and Bukky Ajayi.

The sisters will teach you how to cornrow- the foundational skill in black hair care while sharing other tips and tricks during this workshop. Of course, you’ll also leave with a goodie bag courtesy of Garnier, packed with products to help you protect and maintain your hair all year round.

As always, Black Ballad members will enjoy discounted tickets compared to non-members. So, if you’re in Birmingham or the surrounding areas, come along, bring a friend, and tell another friend!
