Liv Little knows about love, longing and tenderness. Her debut novel, Rosewater, was hailed for all of these reasons and more. But in Bitter Melon she takes on a love story of a different kind – one of a father and daughter, learning how to understand each other on a roadtrip across Jamaica.
Liv’s own life can read like a road trip of sorts. She was the founder of gal-dem, has a storied journalism career and is now taking on the world of film and screenwriting. You might have seen her at the Black Ballad Weekender over the summer, or you might recognise her from any number of podcasts and campaigns she featured in over the last few years.
We took ten minutes to catch up with her while she was walking her girlfriend’s dog (fresh air is important – more on that later).
