In recent years DEI has found itself amidst a flurry of controversy. And thanks to a swarm of critics who’ve bastardised the ethos of fair recruitment practices – diversity, equity and inclusion is becoming increasingly more contentious.
In the last few months alone, major US employers like Meta, McDonald’s and Walmart have announced that they are scaling back, or totally abandoning their DEI initiatives.
Much of this seems to have been influenced by America’s current political climate which has swung sharply to the right following Donald Trump’s latest election win. Right wing influencers and juggernauts like Elon Musk have whipped up much of the recent dissension.
