Black women are beauty’s most valuable customer. We spend more on beauty than anyone else, but too often, we get the worst of the beauty industry.

Products that don’t work for our skin or hair. Shade ranges that miss the mark. Campaigns that stereotype us—or ignore us entirely.

All because our voices are missing from the rooms where beauty is made: the boardroom, the lab, the campaign shoot.

It’s time for that to change—and for Black women to lead that change ourselves.

That’s why we’re launching the Black Ballad Beauty Council: a new way to understand our beauty needs - through the reviews, experiences and preferences of real women.

Black Ballad will collaborate with a range of partners to create experiences that help us understand black women’s beauty needs:

• Product Testing - Give your honest reviews on new and existing beauty products
• Surveys & Focus Groups - Share your perspective in ground-breaking research
• Content Collabs - Participate in community campaigns with our brand partners
• Exclusive Events - Attend invite only experiences to try new products

We will use the insights from these activities to improve the work of our partners and help the beauty industry finally see Black women clearly.

• Hair Type
• Location
• Undertone
• Unique conditions
• Anything else preventing us from experiencing beauty like others
