The number of women who have never been married and have not had children is growing – including in black communities across the globe.

Call it what you want – “single by choice”, “strategic singlehood”, “happily single” or “self-partnered” – far from cautionary tales for younger women, more black women are choosing to live their best lives on their own terms, without partners.
