Since the Black Lives Matter movement has been in the centre of the news, images have been plastered across Instagram and Twitter of empowered women standing with signs or showcasing their success as a black women. This is such a crucial moment to show women how much they can achieve with the right drive, regardless of the colour of their skin. These successes, however, cannot overshadow the hardships black women had to face in the 60s and 70s.
