Meet Black Ballad's Regional Editors!

Earlier this year, Black Ballad received a £70,000 grant to better serve Black women outside of London. The first thing we did, was launch The Great Black British Women's Survey, a first of its kind research project which will allow us to explore, illustrate and understand the different experiences of black women based on where they live in the UK.

But data can only do so much. We knew we needed editors from across the British Isles who have and are connected to the black women who will bring these numbers to life. That is why Black Ballad has hired 9 editors on a project basis to source, commission & edit stories for and by black women across the UK that you can't get anywhere else.

Our regional editors will be working for us over the next two months & in the Autumn, each regional will have a week long take over the Black Ballad website, newsletter & social channels, giving these stories the platform they deserve.

The Black Ballad Regional Editors are:

  • Annalisa Toccara - North East
  • Chloe Seivwright - Wales
  • Christine Ochefu - North West
  • Emmanuella Ngimbi - South East
  • Jill Lupapa - East Midlands
  • Lilian Amaning - East of England
  • Nic Crosara - South West
