Thanks to collective nostalgia, and bolstered by the Tik Tok boom, over the past few years across beauty and fashion we have seen a resurgence of 90s and 00s trends. 

Alongside the re-styling of logomania designer t-shirts, butterfly clips and a return to hip hugging jeans, musically we have entered into a watershed like era – captured in the release of Paper Magazine’s Women in Hip-Hop: The Voices of Our Generation – that has seen female rap take centre stage and take over the charts. 

Artists like Cardi B, Saweetie and Megan Thee Stallion have dominated the music industry over the past few years, showering us with hit after hit filled with keen knowledge of the zeitgeist mixed with inspiration from the hip hop culture of their youth.
