You can never make everyone happy. I remember once, someone I was in a meeting with said: “I read your newsletter, but I have a friend who thinks you moan a lot.” My retort was one that made it clear that it is not by force that you read my newsletter and an unsubscribe button exists for a reason.
There have been times when maybe the newsletter has been sombre or not as upbeat but maybe because it reflected the mood of the community. I mean, with what is going on in the North of the UK, I think it would be highly tone deaf and disingenuous to be writing a happy clappy newsletter this week, with the conversations that have revolved around the racists that are violently attacking Muslims and communities of black and brown people.
