I don't know how long this newsletter will be. It may be shorter than usual or the same length as newsletters I usually write, but I will be surprised if it's longer. I think as soon as I heard the verdict of the Chris Kaba trial, I said, "Of course that was the verdict." For those who don't know, Chris Kaba was an unarmed Black man killed by Martyn Blake, a police officer, after a police chase.
As I have followed the unfolding of the Chris Kaba court trial through his cousins and social justice campaigners, they have been transparent in their grief throughout the process. Of course, when the verdict came back as not guilty, Chris's cousins shared their disappointment, dismay, and rightful anger.
