The Power Of Storytelling & Community For Queer Black Folx

K Bailey Obazee, also known by the moniker Dry Babe, is the visionary founder and director of PRIM – a digital platform for storytelling through written pieces, photography, audio and more. The platform is a reminder that there’s a necessity to conserve Black queer spaces and our passion for literary art while fostering a sense of community and belonging within the LGBTQ+ world.

A Nigerian raised in East London, K initially aspired to a career in politics and was actively involved in supporting community groups within her local borough of Newham. Now, she wears many hats, including those of an events and culture curator, researcher, host, and DJ. Central to her work is a deep commitment to storytelling, amplifying narratives by people of Black ancestry, ensuring these stories are accessible and widely shared, alongside creating spaces for her queer and Black community.
