Black Women On Red Lipstick & The Lasting Legacy of MAC’s Ruby Woo

Thanks to changemakers like Iman, Danielle Myricks and Rihanna via Fenty Beauty, it’s safe to say that for most black women the days of mixing and blending complexion products to find the correct shade are thankfully in the rear view.

However, with colour cosmetics – think eyeshadows, lip liner and bronzer – despite the ever increasing amount of new school brands and post-2020 inclusivity mandates, when shopping for blush tones and lipstick hues it seems that many brands still miss the mark.
